——To My Poet-Friend Mr.Silver Birch
苦守？那年种下的那棵
I will always be there for the silver birch
柏桦树？陪她说话？
I planted that year，chat with her，water her.
给她浇水？？自己去理发时
When I go to the barber，
也抽空？拿把剪刀？
I will find the time，taking a pair of scissors with me
给她理理发？梳梳头
to comb and cut her hair
唠一唠那些压抑多年
and chatter with her in confidence all that which I have repressed
但又欲言又止的私房话
for ages but hesitated to tell.
知道和朋友
in those days when I indulged in
酒肉穿肠的日子里
rich food and nice wine with some friends，
也给她浇浇水？施施肥
I would remember to apply some water and fertilizer
让她开一回荤？吃上一顿
to her so that she could also enjoy a grand dinner
即养颜又健身的大餐
good both for beauty treatment and body-building.
就这样苦守？苦守着那时
I will always be there，waiting hard for
自己种下的这棵柏桦树
the silver birch I planted before until
能够长发飘飘？？婀娜多姿
she grows supple and graceful with long hair
能够婷婷玉立于
and stands elegantly
百草之上？百树之中
above the shrub，among the trees
能够一眼就认出来
so that anybody can spot her at first sight.
能出落得楚楚动人
I am waiting hard until she becomes so delicate and attractive
或可以沉鱼落雁？能够长出
that makes the fish sink and wild geese fall；
小巧的鼻子鲜嫩的红唇
or till she has a small and exquisite nose，bright red lips
长出水汪汪的眼睛
and large，bright eyes；
长？长成妖媚的媚狐
till she becomes a charming fairy maiden
风情的娇娘？或
or a lovely bonny lass
比红杏还要好看的
or poems from the southern land

I Catch Some Insects In My Empire of Sight
——致早逝的广东诗人梧桐树
-To Phoenix Tree，A Poet from Guangdong Province，
who died young
这时是盛夏？太阳撒娇的季节
it is now midsummer，a season for the sun to act
我的视觉帝国里
like a spoiled child，in my visual empire，
祥云驮着清水？转来转去
the auspicious clouds，with clear water on their backs，are
干涸的土地？我双脚站立的地方
roving around，while the dry land on which my
渴？并张着干裂的嘴儿
feet are set，is thirsty with its cracking lips open.
仰望天空？？雁阵已经远去
Looking up to the sky，I find the wild goose queue gone，
鸟儿已经远去
the birds already flying away
四蹄撑起的空间
and in a space supported by hooves
缺乏水缺乏食物的影子
a shortage of water and provisions.
一再寻找荫凉
I am seeking a shady and cool spot again and again.
这是一个需要强者的季节
it is a season calling for the strong，
一个需要忍耐和煎熬的季节
and a period in need of patience and suffering.
太阳撒娇？月光
During the day the sun behaves in a spoiled manner，while at night
清瑟的月光又青又瘦
the moonlight is so cool and so lean.
穿着嫁衣的石榴花
the pomegranate blossom is in red wedding clothes，
我是说非洲丛林深处的石榴花
I mean the one in the deep African jungle，
火红而羞涩的脸
with her blushing and bashful face
被青瘦的月光笼罩着
shrouded in the cool and thin moonbeams.
受孕天然？受孕于昆虫的石榴
the pomegranate who is pollinated by nature，
仰望着赤道以北的那个方向
from the insects，is lifting up its eyes to the direction
梧桐因招不来凤凰而倒下
north of the equator where the Phoenix Tree fell for failing to
非洲旱季的石榴
attract the phoenix coming.So the pomegranate in African dry
待嫁的非洲石榴
season，who is waiting for her wedding，
不知是该哭泣
does not know whether she should weep
还是该歌唱
or sing for the Phoenix tree.
夜还很长？你和我都还有梦
That night is still very long，and both you and me still
穿西装的季节穿长衫的季节
have dreams.In the season of wearing suits and robes，
穿着身后拖着水波的婚纱的季节
in the time of wearing a wedding dress trailing
太阳泡着桑拿和你我聊天的季节
waves behind，in a period when the sun relaxes in
春暖花开或秋高气爽的季节
the sauna and chats with us，or on a warm blooming
（在非洲应该说是有雨水的季节）
spring day or a clear fresh autumn day，（usually the rainy
或许你还没有弄懂我说的意思
season in Africa）.Maybe you don’t understand what
或许？我是说
I am saying，probably I just want to say
在这个流汗不流泪的日子
in the days when people just believe in sweat not tears，
强者和解脱
the strong and those who free themselves
都是迎娶未来的君王
are all the kings to marry the future.

finished on the midnight of August 2，2008in a hurry
注：Note：
在我拟定要“拆”的100多名一线诗人中，本是没有“梧桐树”的。一来他还小，还没有长到“足够拆”的尺寸，二来这棵青青的茁壮成长中的梧桐，真的没有进入我的视野，诗坛很大，我的视觉真的很有限。
Originally，the poet Phoenix Tree was not included among the over a hundred first rank poets in my initial draft to analyze them.For one thing，he is still young and has not grow big enough for me to tear apart；for another，the green Phoenix Tree that is still growing up strong and sturdy has not really come within my range of vision，as the Parnassus is so vast while my field of view is limited.
8月1日晚七时或还晚一点，我接到一位诗友的信息，告诉我吾同树去了，当时我很震惊，问他消息是否可靠，他很快回答我“确凿”。我无言也无语了，问他我们能做点什么？他说太远，只是告诉我。我无奈之余。决定破例“拆”一首有关吾同树的诗。一来是纪念这位诗坛上刚长出的小树，二来也想警示和提醒诗人们生命的珍贵。
At seven o’clock or a little later on the night of 1st August，I received a text message from one of my poet friends，telling me that Phoenix Tree had already left us.Hearing this，I was really astonished and asked him whether the news was reliable.Very quickly，he answered me “definitely”.Then I fell in silence and became speechless and asked him what we could do for the dead.He said we were too far away and he just wanted to inform me.I had no choice，so I decided to compose a poem to analyze Phoenix Tree as an exception.By doing this，I wished，on the one hand，to honor the young sapling that had just come forth；on the other hand，to caution and warn the poets how precious life is.
因为我清楚的记得今年清明在安徽的香蜜湖诗歌节上，我和来自全国的诗人、诗评家王鸿生、朱小如、杨四平、刘志荣、周立民、何言宏、潘洗尘、陈祖君、杨斌华、钱志富、何平、马永波、李德武、沙克、刀、老铁、庞培、黄梵、柏桦、古筝、李振声、乔丽华、朱自奋、张宗刚、江弱水、马铃暑兄弟、宋琳、李郁葱、胡加平、汪政、晓华、潘维、冯光辉、默默、麦城等在谈论当前我国诗歌创作的现状、探讨当前我国诗歌创作是不是存在着“南方精神”的这一命题之余，上海大学文学院院长王鸿生教授破题了另一个话题，那就是中国诗人的生存现状和心理健康。鸿生说的那蕃话，至今都令我难忘（限于篇幅在此我不作展开，以后会专门撰文），我只想说，诗人应该是对诗歌有“使命”和“使命感的”人，在生与死的抉择中，别忘了你是诗人，做为诗人，在你的诗还没写出来之前，是你不能也是不该选择“走”的，我只是提醒诗人们要象珍惜诗歌那样珍惜自己的生命。让我们一起为吾同树默哀！
